A firm favourite amongst British holidaymakers for many years now, coach tours- otherwise referred to as coach holidays or coach trips - are an ideal way of visiting the seaside, the countryside, and even the standout attractions of Europe. Distinctly lacking in the stresses of a regular holiday, coach tour bookings include itineraries and accommodation in the final price.
This means there’s never any dithering when it comes to seeing and doing things or worrying about how expensive your break is going to be. Instead, an experienced tour guide will plan a route and program that keeps everyone entertained at a competitive and easily understood cost.
What's Included?
Typically, the kinds of things you can look forward to on a coach tour include:
- Visits to national landmarks
- Accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis
- Guided tours of major cities and historic villages
- Extended stops for exploration at points of interest
Where can you go on a coach tour?
With options spanning the entire year, it’s possible to enjoy a coach holiday to the beach in summer and a trip to a Christmas market in winter. You can also take a break to a scenic part of Europe in the spring and a tour of the British countryside in autumn. Amongst the most popular destinations for coach holidays in England are the Yorkshire coast and country, the towns of the west country, and the beaches found down in the south.
When it comes to Europe, it’s the western Tyrol of Austria and the fields of Holland that have a reputation for being the standout attractions to visit on board a coach. In every case, you’ll be provided with a full itinerary prior to leaving, so you’ll know exactly what you’ve got to look forward to and what you’ll need to prepare in anticipation of your holiday.
What should I bring on a tour bus?
When it comes to coach tours, you can pack light. With hotels providing all the essential home comforts, all you really need to bring with you is your clothes.
Besides your suitcase, however, you might find it useful to have the following items close to hand:
- Snacks to enjoy whilst travelling
- A blanket to get extra cosy
- A tablet or laptop for entertainment
- A dictionary or phrase book if travelling abroad
- Slippers for greater on board comfort
- A book if you prefer more traditional entertainment
- A small toiletries bag to keep fresh whilst travelling
Armed with each of these things, you’ll have no difficulty enjoying your holiday in comfort. It’s also important to remember that the like-minded company you’ll be sharing on board the coach makes for a nicely social environment should you prefer to pass the time chatting away
How long are coach tours?
Another great thing about coach tours is the flexibility when it comes to duration. There are opportunities for brief four and five day getaways as well as week-long itineraries that are designed to properly recharge those on board.
Whilst the destinations are what really counts when it comes to coach tours, the travel itself presents an excellent opportunity to unwind and enjoy the passing landscapes. Comfortably furnished, the modern coaches which make up our fleet make sure that everyone feels properly relaxed when making their way from one attraction to the next.
It’s also important to note that no two coach tours are alike- even if you visit the same destination twice, you can be certain that those on board and the tour leader will make for two completely different experiences.

How accessible are coach tours?
We offer our holidays to all ranges of people of different variations of ability. We work with hotels that have lifts, some have stairlifts to the pools and ground floor rooms to be able to provide higher levels of accessibility, our coaches do however have a few steps up so we can not take those in electric wheelchairs, for those with walkers and special assistance needs we just ask that you call us before you travel so we can arrange this for you to the best of our abilities.
