If you don’t fancy the walk, there is a public bus that runs from the visitor centre to the cliffs, the price is £1 each way.
The Giant’s Causeway is steeped in myths and legend, one popular story tells of an Irish giant (Finn McCool) building the causeway to challenge the Scottish giant (Benandonner) to a fight, only to retreat when scared of his size, on Finn’s return his wife cleverly disguised him as a baby, so when Benandonner saw the size of the "baby," he assumed that the father, Finn, must be enormous and fled back to Scotland, destroying the causeway behind him.
