Italian Lakes
The Italian Lakes are a group of large lakes on the south side of the Alps. There are five major lakes which consist of Lake Maggiore, Como, Iseo, Garda and Orta. These lakes offer vistas of fantastic blue waters with mountainous landscapes that towers over the lakes. In Como, you can find beautiful pastel-painted houses and stunning scenery. Lake Como was created by glaciers from the Alps melting and it is the Fifth deepest lake in Europe and the deepest lake in Italy. Italy’s Lakeland offers so many unique views, with opportunities for boat tours, local delicacies (often with freshly caught fish from the lake) and exploring historic landmarks.
Rome
Visit Rome, the ‘Eternal City’, where you can find the magnificent Colosseum, fantastic shopping streets, and the oldest building in Italy, The Pantheon. Rome is the capital city of Italy and has an incredible history. Rome was founded in 753 BC and has a population of over 2.75 million. Inside Rome, you can find the Vatican City, where the Pope resides.

Rome is the perfect city for history enthusiasts – with many museums and old churches to discover. Explore the home of the Roman Empire on a Door to Door holiday to Rome.
Venice
Venice, sometimes referred to as the City of Canals, is an old city in Italy, made up of over 100 islands. The city has no roads, just a network of waterways connecting the historic city. Perhaps take a ride on one of the many traditional gondolas, as you float through the many canals in the city. Venice was constructed on logs, which still stand today – over 100,000 wooden stilts support the islands. The Grand Canal, the city’s central thoroughfare stretches over two and a half miles, and meanders through the middle of the city.
