COACH HOLIDAYS TO WEYMOUTH

A selection of escorted holidays and breaks to Weymouth by coach

Weymouth is a quaint seaside town in Dorset on England's south coast and is home to a beautiful stretch of golden coastline, dotted with inlets and coves, including its main sweeping sandy beach that has earned a Blue Flag on many occasions making it the perfect choice for a coach holiday.

The neighbourhood gained popularity after King George III visited in the late 1700s, and the broad promenade is still lined with Georgian terraces and architecture from that period.

The historic harbour is well worth a visit and there are plenty of charming back alleys leading to unique shops, while the award-winning parks and gardens add to the laid-back environment.

All Grand UK Holidays coach tours to Weymouth include the services of our trusted and experienced Tour Managers, as well as any admission fees, tickets, guided tours and complimentary passes, so there are no hidden extra charges.

Nothe Fort
Nothe Fort

Weymouth's stunning historic sea fort on the Jurassic Coast is a wonderfully preserved historic site and museum.

Here you will find guns, canons, and amazing miniature model displays of the Fort’s building in progress.

There is so much to see and walk around with passages and old tunnels underneath the fort and rooms packed with information about the military history of the Fort.
Weymouth Beach
Weymouth Beach

This award-winning sandy beach is overlooked by a magnificent Georgian seafront and is located at the heart of the Jurassic Coast.

It is known for its cleanliness and gorgeous blue waters and has a land train along the promenade.

There are also many restaurants dotted around the beach from which you can enjoy the splendid views.
Weymouth Harbour

Situated in the centre of the Heritage Coast World Natural Heritage region, Weymouth Harbour is steeped in history.

Savour the charm of this lovely spot while lounging and watching the boats come and go.

There are many dining, drinking, and shopping options at Weymouth Harbour.

Places to visit near Weymouth

New Forest
New Forest

With a vast variety of unusual plants and animals, including the well-known wild horses and ponies that roam freely and peacefully, the New Forest National Park is known as the "world capital" for biodiversity.

Visit the lowland park, which offers picturesque views and roomy pathways that beckon exploration as they wind through centuries-old trees.

It's a beautiful forest with a great vibe, or perhaps Bolderwood.

Once utilised for hunting by the Norman emperors, this is now a protected forest and deer sanctuary.
Poole and Harbour
Poole and Harbour

Poole Harbour is one of the biggest natural harbours in the world, where boats are berthed on one side and pleasure cruisers ready to travel to various destinations on the other.

The largest island in Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island, is only reachable by boat and is a much loved holiday spot.

The scenery on this island is breathtaking, ranging from stony, untamed beaches to the striking Brownsea Castle, built by Henry VIII to watch over Poole Harbour.
Swanage & Railway
Swanage Railway

Travel through picturesque scenery to Corfe Castle on the Swanage steam heritage train, for a taste of nostalgia.

In keeping with the 'golden age of steam' theme, the stations are beautifully preserved, as are the coaches.

You can visit a shop in Swanage and a number of museums at each station by making stops along the way.
Lyndhurst
Lyndhurst

Visiting Lyndhurst and pay respects to the late Alice Liddell (Hargreaves), the inspiration behind the well-known Alice in Wonderland.

Also home to the magnificent gothic parish church of St. Michael and All Angels, this area features numerous antique stores.
Seaton

At the mouth of the River Axe sits Seaton, where it is possible to ride on the resort’s unique tramway, or perhaps stroll beside the many colourful beach huts adorning the seafront.
