Things to do in Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare Beach

The sands are large and clean, stretching two miles from Worlebury Hill at the north end to the River Axe at Uphill. 

On a clear day, you can see across the Bristol Channel to Cardiff, with the Welsh shore visible 10 miles away. 

The seafront is wide and spacious, with plenty of cafes, ice cream shops, and restaurants to visit for refreshments.
The Grand Pier
The Grand Pier

The Grand Pier is a great place to visit in Weston-super-Mare it’s very nostalgic and was fully refurbished in 2010. 

The pier is very clean and tidy and offers so much to see and do with a wide range of activities, cafés and arcades to fill the time, or just sit and watch the world after a nice walk out in the fresh air. 

Please note that the pier costs £1 to enter.

This 'free entry’ museum celebrates the history of Weston-super-Mare and its surrounding areas, as fun exhibits see you follow the story of how the town was developed the impact of tourism and the stories of people that live in Weston. 

Alongside Clara’s cottage, there are a range of changing exhibits that are all clearly labelled and friendly staff that are always helpful and informative.

Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway
Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway

Devon's famous Lynton & Lynmouth funicular Cliff Railway entirely powered by water is the most exciting way to travel between these two historic towns. 

You can travel up or down or both and enjoy beautiful views of both Lynton and Lynmouth. Lynton is a town with shops and beautiful scenery, and Lynmouth is a picturesque little village with a Swiss feel.

Wells is a well preserved mediaeval town with a spectacular cathedral, a distinctive moated Bishop's Palace, and a selection of individual shops that are a joy to explore.

An hour-and-a-half drive gets you to the Dorset beach town of Weymouth from Bournemouth. 

Weymouth is a seaside resort with award-winning parks and gardens, interesting shops, and a laid-back atmosphere. 

King George III visited the area in the late 18th century, and fine Georgian terraces still line the wide esplanade. 

The bay is lovely and peaceful with pale yellow sand.
