Things to see and do in Llandudno

Great Orme Tramway
Great Orme Tramway

Established in 1902, the Great Orme Tramway in Llandudno is currently the only cable-hauled funicular tramway in Britain operating on public roads. 

If conditions are good, you can see Blackpool, the Lake District, and the Isle of Man from the summit of Great Orme. 

Getting there by tramway is a terrific way to experience the breathtaking vistas.

A delightful, reasonably priced cafe with restrooms and a wide variety of food options can be found at the top.
Great Orme Mines
Great Orme Mines

Located around the half way stop of the tram, lies the Great Orme Mines, here you can walk around the mines and learn the story of what it was like to be a copper miner many years ago.

Please note this attraction is for those with good mobility as some of the slopes are quite steep as you explore the tunnels.
Llandudno Promenade
Llandudno Promenade

The promenade at Llandudno is almost two miles long and a lovely walk along the seafront/beach from Llandudno pier to Little Orme. 

There are good views of some Victorian architecture and local scenery and in the evening the promenade is well lit perfect for an evening stroll.
Llandudno Pier

Llandudno's Pier is the largest pier in Wales stretching out 700 metres into the Irish Sea, it's full of old world charm with delightful views of the Great Orme and Little Orme too. 

Take a stroll on this Victorian masterpiece with its 19th century ironwork, stop off in one of the food and drink outlets or independent shops then remember to look back at the shore at Llandudno'sbeautiful pastel colour architecture.
Snowdonia National Park
Snowdonia National Park

Snowdonia National Park holds Wales' highest peak (Snowdon) and Wales's largest natural lake (Llyn Tegid), the park is vast, breathtakingly beautiful and unspoiled. 

Here you will find so much to see and enjoy, from waterfalls, glens, deserted quarries, old mining villages, more modern settlements, stone bridges, to stone circles and a lot of sheep!
Betws-y-Coed
Betws-y-Coed

Betws-y-Coed, a well-known mountain community in North Wales known as the entrance to Snowdonia, is renowned for its handcrafted goods and breathtaking waterfalls.

This enchanted location emits an Alpine charm, alongside traditional grey stone. Keep an eye out for Tŷ Hyll, popularly referred to as the "Ugly House," a charming cottage full of history, legend and mystery.
Caernarfon
Caernarfon

Caernarfon is home to Wales' most famous castle and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

The magnificent castle guards the entrance to the Menai Straits, the castle is recognised as one of the greatest pieces of architecture from the Middle Ages. 

The castle is beautiful and it’s fascinating to discover all the nooks and crannies, you can even climb up the turrets onto the high wall.
